Tiffany Sunrise
"Tiffany Sunrise". Painted en plein air - outdoors on location - this 30" x 24" painting was created in three visits to Tiffany Falls Conservation area. It features bright inks and layered forms.
Look closely, you'll discover three scenes: in the background is the waterfall, soft and transparent against the brilliant glow of the morning sun.
Midground you'll see a portion of the limestone "walls" that rise above the gorge. The soft bluish rocks are transparent where they overlap with the first scene allowing the viewer to see the tree trunks beyond. A large rock, fallen decades ago into the stream sits in the middle of the frame. It straddles the edges of the creek and redirects the flow.
Foreground we find a large stump, which is situated on the main trail as you first arrive at the conservation area. One can only image how big the tree must have been. Its root system depicted in bright reds flowing into the landscape.
This painting features finished edges and a hanging wire making it ready to display.
