The second painting in the Costa Rica Collection, Santa Ana has a casual surreal feel with joyfully bright colours. The buildings are purposely created out of scale, the motorbike larger than life. I loved how the buildings were all unique in shape, size and use. Most had a beautiful terracotta roof tiles and brightly painted walls. It reminded me very much of a scene in a Dr Suess book with the houses feeling very much part of the environment.
The painting, Santa Ana is a mash up of scenes I discovered during my adventures in Santa Ana Costa Rica. It has the light airy feel of the people who live there.
This original water-based ink painting 30” high and 24” wide with a depth of 1.5”. The artwork wraps halfway around the edges which are then finished in black. This provides a clean, finished, high-end look and makes the work ready to display without the need for a frame.
