Forest Lovers
Painted on site - en plein air - at the Elora plein air festival, this small painting depicts the usually shaped trees I found in the forest along the Elora gorge. The two in the background look like they are in a lovers embrace while the foreground tree observes the scene. This trail is often used by wedding parties for photos and just to relax from the stress of the day. I felt it was very fitting to find a scene that reflects the use of the trail as this one does.
This original water-based ink painting 12” high and 9” wide with a depth of 1.5”. The artwork wraps halfway around the edges which are then finished in black. This provides a clean, finished, high-end look and makes the work ready to display without the need for a frame.
