Above and Beyond the Mist
Above and Beyond the Mist began as an expression of hiking off trail through a thick forest. You come upon a small clearing with a pond. The morning mist rising and you follow the line of site upwards and see a clearing ahead in the distance. You are not lost, you’re just travelling an unknown part of your journey. The horizon is ahead.
This piece is an experimental piece. Sometimes I will repaint or refresh a canvas when I want to try a new style, approach or process. So in a sense these are “prototypes” of work to follow.
This original painting is 24” high and 24” wide with a depth of 1.5”. The artwork wraps halfway around the edges which are then finished in black. This provides a clean, finished, high-end look and makes the work ready to display without the need for a frame.
