Birch Rock
Sometimes while travelling you come upon a scene that calls to you. Birch Rock was born from my stumbling upon a majestic chunk of rock that jutted out from the landscape. This area is on the TransCanada Highway just west of Sault Ste Marie. The rock was set far back from the road and was dotted with beautiful birch at its base all wearing their fall colours. As I often do, I created the composition first as a sketch, adding rocks at the base of the birch trees and a lake to cast reflections of the scene.
The beautiful soft blue grey palette is punched with gold and green accents and will complement any decor from a cool wall to warmly themed accents.
This original painting is 24” high and 24” wide with a depth of 1.5”. The artwork wraps halfway around the edges which are then finished in black. This provides a clean, finished, high-end look and makes the work ready to display without the need for a frame.
